Orie is a General Psychologist who works with pre-teens, adolescents, adults, and families. She is currently completing a Master of Clinical Psychology as part of the pathway to clinical endorsement. Orie holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Psychology), a Graduate Diploma of Psychology, and a Master of Professional Psychology.
Orie has extensive experience as an Advanced Behaviour Support Practitioner, supporting individuals with complex needs across disability settings. She has worked collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to support individuals with intellectual disabilities, neurodivergence, acquired brain injury, early-onset dementia, dual diagnoses, and behavioural difficulties including emotional dysregulation. This background has provided her with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by people with disabilities and mental health conditions, as well as the importance of delivering coordinated and compassionate care.
She draws on a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, EMDR, and trauma-informed care. Orie also values attachment-based work and incorporates developmental perspectives to support identity formation and emotional wellbeing. Her practice integrates psychoeducation and behavioural strategies to help clients build insight and resilience.
Orie supports clients with a wide range of psychological difficulties, including anxiety, depression, general psychological distress, substance use, life transitions, relational challenges, and social anxiety. She has also experienced working with individuals and families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and with individuals who are neurodivergent, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD.
Orie’s therapeutic style is warm, inclusive, and developmentally informed. She is passionate about helping people embrace their uniqueness and approach life’s challenges with self-awareness, compassion, and acceptance. Her goal is to make therapy feel grounded, accessible, and connected to everyday life.
Outside of work, Orie enjoys building meaningful connections through food, spontaneous adventures, travel, and learning from different cultures.
