Scott McNabb - Speech Pathologist/Director

Scott is the director at Eastern Therapy Hub, and a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist (C.P.S.P). He has worked for the Department of Education, multiple schools, in private practice and as a clinical educator at a university.

Scott has a special interest in treating stuttering and fluency disorders in children, adolescents and adults. Scott has successfully treated many of his clients via telepractice. Scott is also trained in the Hanen: More Than Words program for parents of children with language delays and autism, and has a special interest in working with neurodiverse adolescents.

Evidence shows that clinician-client relationships are directly linked to stronger therapy outcomes, and Scott seeks to connect meaningfully with his clients in different ways. Scott has found his childhood knowledge of Pokemon to be extremely useful.

Scott is an active member of Speech Pathology Australia (M.S.P.A) and strives to ensure that he is up to date with the latest research and evidence by attending regular professional development. Scott is not accepting new clients at this time.

Anna - Senior Speech Pathologist

Anna completed a Master of Speech Pathology at La Trobe University in 2013 and is a practising member of Speech Pathology Australia. She has extensive experience working with children and adolescents with a range of speech, language, fluency, literacy and social communication needs. Anna is also a mum of two.

Anna worked in the education sector for a number of years, where she developed a passion for equipping and partnering with families and educators to support children in their communication goals.

Anna has a special interest in early language development, and in stuttering. Anna is trained in the Lidcombe Program, Colourful Semantics, Hanen: It Takes Two To Talk and Learning Language and Loving it, and has completed further training in stuttering treatment for school age children.

Anna is passionate about seeing every child have their unique voice understood, and she loves seeing clients participate to their full potential in all aspects of life. Anna combines her ongoing professional development and evidence based practice with a personalised, warm and engaging approach to every child and family.

 

Joanna - Speech Pathologist - Holiday Program Coordinator

Joanna is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist (C.P.S.P.). Joanna graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Applied Science and Master of Speech Pathology. She is a member of Speech Pathology Australia.

Joanna has experience working with children and adults of different ages and cultural backgrounds through volunteer, placement and work opportunities. She has worked in hospitals, communication clinics and schools. She has also had experience in the provision of services via telehealth. Joanna has gained experience in the areas of paediatric literacy, language and speech, as well as adult swallowing, speech and language. Joanna has a particular interest in all things communication as these skills play a vital role in our everyday lives, including our ability to access opportunities and build positive relationships.

Joanna endeavours to provide quality and evidence-based therapy. She aims to support individuals in achieving their goals to enhance participation in important life activities and to improve quality of life. Joanna is passionate about working collaboratively with clients of all ages and cultures to enable meaningful and practical progress in their speech pathology goals.

 

Eliza - Speech Pathologist (currently on maternity leave)

Eliza graduated with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology from Australian Catholic University in 2019 and is registered as a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist with Speech Pathology Australia. She is passionate about working with children and adults in the context of their families and in the community.

Eliza is highly motivated to build relationships and support individuals with communication needs to achieve functional and holistic goals in their everyday lives. She is dedicated to client centred and evidence-based speech pathology services. Eliza has experience working with clients in the context of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), developmental delays, intellectual disabilities, and stroke rehabilitation.

 

Phy - Speech Pathologist

Phy completed her Master of Speech Pathology in 2022 at La Trobe University and is a Certified Practicing Member of Speech Pathology Australia. Phy is multilingual and can converse in English, Mandarin, and Hokkien. Phy is passionate about working with children who have feeding delays and oromotor deficits.

As well as feeding, Phy is also interested in working with children in the areas of AAC and play. She is incredibly passionate about supporting children and their families to achieve their goals and reach their full potential. She has experience working with children diagnosed with developmental delays, intellectual disabilities, hearing impairments, Autism and ADHD.

Phy is trained in:

  • Eating and sensory disorders in Autism and Down Syndrome

  • ARFID treatment for food intake disorders and related anxiety

  • Oral Placement Therapy for speech and feeding difficulties

  • MyoMunchee certified practitioner for oromotor weaknesses

U-Wen - Speech Pathologist

U-Wen is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist. He graduated from La Trobe University with a Master of Speech Pathology in 2022 and is a member of Speech Pathology Australia.

U-Wen has a special interest in helping young children with their speech, language, communication and play. His passion is driven through evidence-based research which highlights the importance of early intervention. U-Wen has worked in hospitals, rehabilitation centres, communication clinics and schools across both rural and urban settings.

U-Wen is constantly striving to learn and improve to provide the best possible outcomes for his clients. He stays up-to-date with the latest evidence-based research, through attending professional development courses and reading research articles.

 

Rebecca - Speech Pathologist

Rebecca graduated with a Master of Speech Pathology from La Trobe University and is a certified practicing member of Speech Pathology Australia. Rebecca considers it a joy and privilege to support individuals on their speech therapy journeys. She endeavours to cultivate an environment that is fun, encouraging, inclusive and safe. She strives to uphold a neurodiverse-affirming approach, recognising and admiring that everyone has their own learning styles and wonderfully unique strengths.

Rebecca is passionate about enabling educational and social opportunities for all. She particularly enjoys helping children with literacy, speech, and reducing the impacts of stuttering, as well as supporting adolescents to make and maintain friendships. Rebecca also has a strong interest in voice, having studied classical singing at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, and experience working with clients through their voice challenges. Rebecca is dedicated towards being a life-long learner by listening to the wisdom and experiences of others, reading journal articles, and participating in professional development.

 

Nethmie - Speech Pathologist

Nethmie completed her Master of Speech Language Pathology degree at the University of Sydney. She is a registered member of Speech Pathology Australia and a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist.

Nethmie especially enjoys working with preschool and school-aged children in the areas of speech, language and literacy. Nethmie is trained in the Lidcombe Program, an evidence-based program for treating stuttering in children.

Nethmie endeavours to deliver evidence-based and client-centred therapy that helps clients and their families meet their communication goals. She also strives to make every session personalised and engaging for her clients.

Outside of work, Nethmie loves spending time with her friends and family, reading and playing netball.  

 

Kiara - Speech Pathologist

Kiara completed a Master of Speech Pathology at La Trobe University in 2023 and is a member of Speech Pathology Australia. Previously, Kiara worked at Eastern Therapy Hub as an Allied Health Assistant, but after completing her degree, she is now a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist!

Kiara has experience working with people all across the lifespan from neonates to aged care, in private clinics, mainstream schools, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities and aged care facilities. Kiara has helped children and adolescents with speech, language, literacy, fluency and social communication. She has also assisted in adult swallowing and language rehabilitation and assessment for stroke.

Kiara takes a client-centred approach to therapy, building trust and rapport with her clients to help them function at their best. Kiara loves to learn about her clients' interests and hobbies, and new ways to help her clients achieve their goals.

 

Katrina - Senior Speech Pathologist - AHA Coordinator

Katrina completed a Bachelor of Health Science and Master of Speech Pathology at La Trobe University in 2012. Katrina has a keen interest in working with children and adolescents with literacy difficulties which was developed after several years working in the Department of Education. She believes strongly in evidence-based intervention and has helped set up the MULTILIT Reading Tutor program in a number of schools.

Katrina has extensive experience supporting children and adolescents with speech and language skills. She has also worked with clients diagnosed with developmental trauma, autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and intellectual disability.

As a mum of two young children, Katrina understands how busy life can be, and strives to work with families in a holistic way. In her rare spare time, Katrina enjoys exploring hiking trails, listening to audiobooks and playing boardgames.

 

Monique - Speech Pathologist

Monique graduated from La Trobe University with a Master of Speech Pathology and is a Certified Practicing Member of Speech Pathology Australia. Monique particularly enjoys working with children to develop their speech and language, as well as working with children who stutter. She also has a strong interest in working with clients with voice difficulties. Monique strives to create an engaging and welcoming environment recognising individuals have different learning styles and interests.

Monique is passionate about learning and applying evidence-based practice. Monique is committed to ongoing professional development and working collaboratively with children and their families to support clients to achieve their communication goals.

Outside of work, Monique enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, swimming and playing tennis.

 

Pallas - Speech Pathologist

Pallas completed her Bachelor of Speech Pathology at La Trobe University in 2008. She has experience working with primary and secondary school-aged students in special school and mainstream school settings. She seeks to be client-centred, family-centred and neurodiversity-affirming as she supports clients to achieve their communication goals. She has worked with clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Intellectual Disability, developmental delays, learning disorders, stuttering, and speech sound disorders.

As a mum of two children, Pallas has deepened her learning about early childhood development and is passionate about supporting families with young children. She strongly believes in building the capacity of caregivers, especially in relation to promoting communication, language and play.

Born in Hong Kong, Pallas speaks English, Cantonese and conversational Mandarin. She has an interest in bilingual language development and values supporting culturally diverse families to continue their cultural and linguistic heritage and practices. Pallas is committed to evidence-based intervention and regularly updates her knowledge via professional development. She is trained in Hanen- It Takes Two To Talk, PROMPT, Oral Placement Therapy, Voicecraft, Key Word Sign, and Feed the Peds (paediatric feeding).

 

Carolyn - Art Therapist and Counsellor / Team Leader

Carolyn has worked for twenty-five years in the field of health and wellbeing, she is a trained Counsellor and Art Therapist, receiving her MA. In 2013. Creativity is at the heart of her therapeutic practice; through diverse mediums such as painting, writing, weaving, sculpting and collaborative conversations, Carolyn understands the power of creativity to connect, explore, inspire, and heal.

Carolyn has worked with women and children from culturally diverse backgrounds, recovering from family violence and trauma, with people experiencing complex mental health issues and anxiety disorders. She has worked with children from diverse backgrounds and developed arts- based programs with teenagers, exploring topics important to their emerging sense of self.

Through experience she has developed a deep respect for our individual differences while also understanding that our need for connection, safety, dignity, respect, and connection to something greater is common to us all. Carolyn’s holistic approach to group and individual sessions focuses on what is meaningful in people’s lives’; centring on building skills and identifying practical steps towards creating change. Her work is informed by arts- based psychotherapy, mindfulness, ACT, trauma -informed practices, her approach is body and person centred. She is also interested in placing personal stories in a broader social and cultural context to facilitate understanding.

 

Jess - Music Therapist

Jess completed a Master’s in Music Therapy at The University of Melbourne and is a registered music therapist (RMT) with the Australian Music Therapy Association (AMTA). Jess is also an accomplished musician, specialising in violin, and completed a Bachelor of Music at The Victorian College of the Arts in 2017.

Jess has previously delivered music therapy in a specialist education setting and has also worked in disability centres, hospitals and aged care facilities.

Jess aims to deliver a high quality service that is tailored to the needs of the individual/group. Through working under a strengths-based model, her work is guided by the philosophy that every person should be afforded opportunities to flourish with the strengths that are inherent within themselves, whilst also developing key functional skills that are essential for their quality of life.

 

Roshi - Counsellor and Psychotherapist

Roshi is a registered counsellor, psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor in Australia. Roshi holds a Master's degree in Counselling, and is an affiliated member of the Australian Counselling Association.

Roshi is deeply passionate about helping clients navigate issues that impact their quality of life. She works from a place of genuine interest and curiosity about each client. Roshi utilises a holistic approach and multi-modal, integrative, evidence-based therapies. Therapy with Roshi means customised therapeutic strategies and treatments for clients’ specific needs.

Roshi’s aim is to provide an environment where clients feel acknowledged, empowered and accepted. This encourages discovery of new effective ways of relating with both self and others to reach higher, more effective and positive therapy results.

Roshi enjoys spending time with her 2 dogs (Happy & Hope), travelling and road trips, live music, reading, puzzles and shopping!

 

Giulia - Art Therapist and Counsellor

Giulia (she/her) is an Art Therapist and Counsellor with a Master’s degree from LaTrobe University. She is professionally registered with ANZACATA and ACA. Her background covers supporting individuals of all ages with mental health and wellbeing, psychiatric care, neurodiversity and disability. Giulia’s sessions are person-centred, with focus on autonomy, utilising and building your own capability, and working towards realistic, responsive and empowering therapeutic goals. She's open-minded and inclusive of all genders, orientations, and identities.

Giulia cares about what is important to you in life and strives to offer an individualised and collaborative experience in your therapeutic journey. She is passionate about the positive impacts of engaging in creativity as a support tool for expression, self-discovery, emotional regulation, stress relief and play (and more!). Giulia will support you to learn and use creative processes and materials in ways that feel right for you. She's all about embracing life's ups and downs and is an advocate for approaching health through a holistic framework, which means she understands and focuses on how physical, psychological, social and spiritual factors can influence wellbeing.

Outside of her profession, Giulia has a love of dogs and would be delighted to share in the joy of seeing photos of your beloved furry companion!

 

Olivia - Art Therapist and Counsellor

Passionate about harnessing the healing potential of art, Olivia is an Art Therapist committed to fostering emotional well-being and growth. With a Master's in Art Therapy from La Trobe University, Olivia blends formal education with a compassionate approach to guide individuals on their unique journeys to self-discovery.

Experienced in clinical and community settings, Olivia thrives on creating tailored interventions that inspire positive change. She believes in the power of creativity to transcend boundaries. Dedicated to continuous learning and holistic care, Olivia contributes to the vibrant community at Eastern Speech Pathology. 

 

Katrina - Provisional Psychologist

Katrina (she/her) is registered with AHPRA as a Provisional Psychologist and a member of the AAPi. Katrina has experience working with children, adolescents and young adults, parents and caregivers of child clients and has worked with a wide range of presentations including depression, anxiety, education and university related difficulties, parenting challenges and work-related stress. Katrina has a special interest in neurodivergence (i.e., ADHD, autism, PDA). Katrina enjoys taking time to understand client symptoms and concerns and utilises a neuroaffirming, client-centred approach. Katrina worked in psychology higher education for a decade after completing her PhD in organisational psychology, teaching and supervising psychology students.

Katrina's plan for 2024 is to become fully registered as a Psychologist and she hopes to one day have her dog Possum join her at Eastern Therapy Hub.

 

Vikki - Psychologist

Vikki obtained her Master of Professional Psychology with Federation University in 2019. She is registered member with Australian Psychological Society and holds General Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Vikki is a dedicated Psychologist and has an interest in working with neurodivergent children, adolescence and adults (i.e., autism, ADHD). Vikki has experience in supporting individuals with mild Intellectual disability who live through psychosocial difficulties.

Vikki utilises evidence-based treatment approach such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Exposure Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) to address history of Trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Anxiety, Depression and Obsession Compulsion Disorder (OCD).

Vikki adopts a compassionate, non-judgemental, and person-centred approach, creating a secure environment for individuals to explore and gain a deeper understanding of their psychological wellbeing.

 

Jess - Psychologist

Jess has a Master of Education and Developmental Psychology with Monash University. She holds a General Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Jess enjoys working with individuals across all age groups and utilises CBT, ACT, strength-based, and person-centred approaches to support emotional regulation, school avoidance, anxiety, and low mood. Jess has a strong passion for working with neurodivergent clients, particularly those with ADHD, Autism, and/or Specific Learning Disorders, and is committed to creating tailored, neuroaffirming strategies that help each person reach their full potential.

Originally from Brisbane, Jess moved to Melbourne in 2022. In her free time, she loves playing sports, travelling, catching up with friends, and spending time at the beach.

 

Sarah - Practice Manager

Sarah is our practice manager, and the cornerstone of our clinic. She has extensive experience in customer service, is caring and creative, and enjoys solving problems. Sarah is always willing to offer a listening ear or entertain our clients in the reception area. Sarah values a good coffee (almond magic) and enjoys spending time with her friends, family and dogs; Ralph and Norman.

 

Molly - Receptionist/Allied Health Assistant

Molly is one of our receptionists, currently studying a Bachelor of Speech and Language Sciences/Master of Speech Pathology at Victoria University. Molly is also an Allied Health Assistant who strives to support clients under the guidance of our experienced Speech Pathologists. She is excited to explore all aspects of speech pathology and discover what interests her most.

Molly is passionate about helping people achieve their goals and building connections. She is always happy to have a friendly chat and lend a helping hand. 

 

Chloe - Allied Health Assistant

Chloe is an Allied Health Assistant who strives to support clients under the guidance of our experienced Speech Pathologists. Chloe wears many figurative hats and also helps out at reception.

Chloe is currently studying a Bachelor of Speech Pathology at Australian Catholic University. She is looking forward to developing her professional and personal skills in the field, by building strong relationships through a person-centred practice. Having previously worked as a party host, Chloe knows how to have a lot of fun!

 
 

Molly C - Receptionist

Molly is one of our receptionists, and is currently studying a Bachelor of Arts specialising in Psychology and Linguistics at the University of Melbourne. Molly hopes to study Speech Pathology upon graduating. 

Molly is always up for a chat and will lend a hand wherever possible. Molly thoroughly enjoys reading, and has a strong passion for music; playing guitar and piano.

 

Katie - Receptionist

Katie has a Bachelors degree in early years and education, so understands the importance of supporting our clients on their journeys. She is a mum to a toddler, loves a cuppa (if you didn't guess yet, she's British!). In her free time, she loves to explore Melbourne and beyond after moving here a year ago. Katie loves anything admin and organising, and she'll be happy to see you in reception soon!

 

Jess - Business Manager

Jess is our business manager. She is mother to an energetic young lady, as well as two dogs. She enjoys drinking great coffee, walking her pups, group fitness and playing soccer.
